About the Book
The Project for Monitoring the Changing Oceanographic Conditions of the Marmara Sea (MAREM) is a comprehensive scientific monitoring initiative focused on Turkey’s marine ecosystem. Through oceanographic, biological, chemical and climatological research conducted in winter and summer 2011, the water quality, ecosystem integrity and environmental risks of the Marmara Sea were assessed. The project aims to provide regular monitoring and develop data-driven measures to address the sea’s deteriorating ecological balance, thereby contributing to the scientific protection of the marine environment on a national scale.
